Be Yourself
Broken Toys
| As children bring their broken toys, with tears, for me to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God because he was my friend. But then, instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone I hung around and tried to help . . . with ways that were my own. At last I snatched them back and cried, "How can You be so slow?" "My child," He said. "What could I do? You never did let go." --By Ben Hildner-- | |
"I am not my thoughts, not my mind.
I am the eternal awareness that lies behind.
We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.
Before we can hope to have outer peace, we first must have inner peace.
Before we can have inner peace, we must rise above our ego.
To transcend ego, we must let go of attachment to our thoughts, opinions and possessions.
No more I but We, in perfect harmony."

God, Speak To Me
The man whispered, "God, speak to me."
And a meadowlark sang.
But the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, "God, speak to me!"
And the thunder rolled across the sky.
But the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you."
And a star shone brightly.
But the man did not notice.
And the man shouted, "God, show me a miracle!"
And a life was born.
But the man did not know.
So, the man cried out in despair.
"Touch me God, and let me know that you are here!"
Whereupon God reached down and touched the man.
But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.
