Memento

"Once, someone requested Mulla Nasrudin: "Give me your ring as a memento, so that whenever I look at it I will remember you."

"Mulla replied: "You cannot have the ring. But whenever you want to remember me, just look at your finger and remember that I did not give you the ring!"

"Merge into God.

Knowledge of the Religious Texts will not save you at the time of your death.

Give up your endless thirst to amass wealth and fame.
Don’t  get drowned in delusion through uncontrolable passions and lust.
The life of man is as uncertain as rain drops on a lotus leaf.

Know that the entire world is not free from disease,ego and grief.

 What use is a lake which has no water? Where are the relatives when wealth is gone? Where is samsara (world) when the Truth is known?

Daylight and darkness, dusk and dawn, winter and springtime come and go.

Time plays and life ebbs away. But the storm of desire never leaves.

Merge into God,"

"Imagine that every person in the world is enlightened but you.

They are all your teachers, each doing just the right things

 to help you learn perfect patience,

perfect wisdom, perfect compassion."

"To memorize the scriptures is easy,

to live them is hard.

Faking sincerity is a learned skill

being sincere is a life long endeavor.

Look deep,

words vanish

Joyous, silent.

The Awaken One finds the dreamer......

Give up that imaginary thought

that you cannot rise above desire

or fix your mind on the Self.

He is right next to you!

Do not look for Him far away.

My void merged in the pure Void!"

"Put a fish on land and she will remember the ocean until she dies.

Put a bird in a cage, yet he will not forget the sky.

Each remains homesick for his true home,

The place where his nature has decreed that he should be.

Man is born in the state of innocence.

His original nature is love, grace and purity.

Yet he emigrates so casually without even a thought of his old home.

Is this not sadder than the fishes and the birds?"

"Illness is not cured by saying the word “medicine”,

but by taking medicine.

Enlightenment is not achieved by repeating the word “God”

but by directly experiencing God".

It is as though you have an eye

That sees all forms

But does not see itself.

This is how your mind is.

Its light penetrates everywhere

And engulfs everything,

So why does it not know itself?
