Buddha....Four Noble Truths

How to reach Enlightenment in this lifetime?
Many sects and traditions will have different practices.. but all have these as their basis:
1.The world is full of suffering and stress.
2.The cause of this suffering and stress is desires of physical instincts.
3.If desires can be removed, suffering and stress will be ended.
4.Desires can be removed by following the Eightfold Noble Path:
Right Views,
Right Thoughts,
Right Speech,
Right Conduct,
Right Livelihood,
Right Effort,
Right Mindfulness,
Right Concentration..

  1. Hi Surjit,
Although I understand the Buddhist theory, I think it's a matter of perspective. I see the world as being full of love and beauty, wisdom, and the effervescent Soul in awakening.

    God bless.

  3. Hi Surjit,

Do you believe that the reason for us manifesting a life is for us to become unattached to any desire? Please help me to understand better...for instance Ghandi desired peace. I understand that once you desire, you detach fromt he outcome, but to never desire - what are we here for then? Your friend and student....
