Two people may suffer the same disappointment, one might be saddened, the other understanding.
Two people may receive the same insult, one might be hurt, and the other compassionate.
Two people may have the same disagreement, one might be angered, the other feel love.
How you react to circumstances, people and things, IS A CHOICE, YOUR CHOICE...
based on your USE of compassion, understanding and love. (Mike Dooley.)

  1. I have a dear friend who used to say, "What you see depends upon what you were thinking before you looked." I don't know the original source of the quote, but it has always stuck with me. I think this is true here, too.

    Many blessings, surjit.

  5. No one is writing our story but us and our Source. So my reactions are mine alone based on what is inside of me, not what is inside someone else. That bugs me, but I know it to be true.
Oftentimes my best friends are those that ignite my reactions - I see the real me without my proper training. :-)
    Thanks my friend!

  9. I've always thought this. Epictitus said something similar about not being able to control external events - but we can control our reactions to them.

    Sounds truthful enough.

  10. I was just reading about this concept this morning. It's so clear that taking responsibility for our thoughts (reactions) gives us tremendous power to improve the quality of our lives. Each event provides a new opportunity to flex the muscle of the mind, and choose what we really want.

    Hugs,
    Betty
