Generosity

"Each one of us has something to offer to someone in need.We can give money and time to charity, be a friend to someone who is sick and lonely, do volunteer work etc.
Generosity is a sign of emotional maturity. It is being thoughtful and considerate
without being asked to be.
A generous person has a special spark in his eyes and a glow on his face as he experiences
the richness of life which a selfish person can never do."

"Generosity is giving more than you can and pride is taking less than you need."

  1. Surjit that's beautiful... It reminds me of the old adage, "It's better to give than receive."

Although I've noticed in the past that it is important for me to analyze why I am giving. Is it for my own ego? Or is it simply an altruistic gesture?

  3. good morning surjit,, you know i read ever time you post,, and rarely comment,, but i must say on this item,, that one of the things i miss in a solitary life is being able to do for others.. somehow seeking them out,, for instance in a group or thru an organization just doesn't have the same warmth as knowing someone and choosing to do something nice for them simply out of love... thank you for reminding me of the pleasure of giving....

  5. Generosity should come from the heart but it is also what we as beleivers are required to do. 2 Corinthians 8:7 says, "But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. When seeing someone in need we as believers in Christ should not hesitate to give. Well written and God bless you on your journey with the Lord! Grace and Peace....
