Art Of Peace

Trying to control the future ..
is like trying to take the Master Carpenter’s place.
When you handle the Master Carpenter’s tools,
chances are that you’ll cut your hand.
-Tao Te Ching-
But this doesn’t mean we have no say in our own lives.
We are still responsible for making decisions and choices every day.
But our free will is arguably limited if we are not aware of all our choices.
Are we always clear on what we are choosing?
Or are we following our own selfish desires to detriment other people and the world around us?
Are we making the effort to find that stillness and peace is within us, and seek the answers there first?
Are we aware that this Way of life is truly is an “Art of Peace”?

  1. Hi surjit,

I agree with this statement "We are still responsible for making decisions and choices every day". Many of them worrying about future and wasting their Presence. One should take the decision for the current situation boldly and the future will be taken care by GOD. :)

  3. a lot of things to ponder on. a lot of times I find it hard to make decisions in my life, especially if it involves feelings of the people I love.

I have always believed that we all are meant to live in peace...but achieving it and finding it is often hard. I am finding more and more that when one lives simply peace does not seem so far away.

Lovely post Surjit. God bless your good heart always =)

  5. I find decision making is sometimes very hard. But I also believe that if you are making a decision without thinking the benefit you will gain from that decision that is fine.

Any decision cannot be categorised as good or bad. They are simply done. If your decision has good results, fine. If you get a bad result, that is fine too, nothing can be done.

Yes, I strongly believe that if you are going to make a decision, first think about it and then forget it. Go to a peaceful place and be calm and silent. Your peaceful and clear mind will bring you lot of solutions to your problems.

When you are at peace with yourself and nature, you are capable of making good decisions.

Thanks Surjit, for that lovely piece of wisdom.

  7. It's so difficult to give up control. We are used to doing everything for ourselves and searching so hard for answers that we forget the answer is within us. This "art of peace".

  9. Hi Greylord,
    You have rightly said:
..'It's so difficult to give up control..'
Because we have become used to this kind of mental set up.First we mess up our life and then search for the answers and find
    ..'the answer is within us..'
    Thanks for sharing your insights.
    God bless.

  10. Dearest and Respected Surjitji,
Pranaam:) A beautiful post again! I believe that God created and gifted us Free-Will, the ability to think and act with our own intelligence and wisdom. His role comes in where as humans we fail to enact our part as peace loving children and mess up our lives with selfish desires and an indifferent attitude towards our fellow beings.
As all major religions say that your Karma decides your destiny :)The choices you adopt pave the road of your fate.
God always has an eye on us and He steps in when we Surrender to Him in totality after having exercised our choices and will.
Its as simple as they say- Do your best and leave the Rest to God, He is truly the Master Architect of your Life!
God Bless you dear one:) My Love, hugs and Prayers for you always :)
