The Inner House Keeping

"We all know that everyone does some form of housekeeping or the other. We clean up our personal cupboards or the old attic once in a while. This involves removing useless, irrelevant objects and rearranging and carefully preserving what is needed.
We thus dust, wipe, or meticulously wrap up the things we need.
We all know how important it is to do this, however scarce may be the opportunity and time.
Similarly, like setting our house right, we need to set our inner house in order. This inner housekeeping consists in examining the type of beliefs we cling on to, brushing up our enthusiasm for higher life and discarding out all negative and harmful ideas. There is just no reason why we should retain the dirt of bitterness and frustration arising out of our dealings with the material world. Nor should we try to make too much of our successes and achievements.
They are only milestones and landmarks on the highway of life. There is nothing wise in considering a milestone as a destination.
The destination of human life is not material but spiritual.
Do you agree?

  1. hi surjit i agree that The destination of human life is not material but spiritual.

most of people forget about cleaning up their innersleves and concentrate more about their outer looks forgetting that outer looks will fade away one day and your deeds and reputaions will remain forever even after we pass away
we all need regular cleaning up and discarding all negative thoughts to remain good and positive

    thx for lovely post
    GOD BLESS

  5. hi surjit,
through the menial things we do in our lives we have the opportunity to learn about our own spirituality, if that is what we chose on this journey

  6. I absolutely agree, Surjit. Material things were meant to be only a means to an end, not an end in themselves. Spirit is place we come from, and the place to which we return. Nothing of the material world can be taken with us, nor will it be needed. It the spiritual realm, all that is necessary is provided.

  15. Hi Surjit,

Indeed, life is not about material things but spiritual.

The bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:16 - "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."

The bible also gives the warning in Colossians 3:2 - "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth."

The bible tells us some of the necessary housekeeping for our soul in Colossians 3:8 - "But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth."

    God bless

There is a prayer in the Bible which says"Search me O God and know my heart today and see if there is any hurtful way in me".
