Thought For Today

"When the people of the world all know beauty as beauty,
there arises the recognition of ugliness.
When they all know the good as good,
there arises the recognition of bad.
Therefore being and non-being produce each other;
difficult and easy complete each other;
long and short contrast each other;
high and low distinguish each other;
sound and voice harmonize with each other;
beginning and end follow each other.
Therefore the wise manage affairs without interfering
and teach beyond the words...........
They accomplish, but claim no credit.
Because they claim no credit,
their accomplishment remains with them."

    A wise man sees without seeing, goes without going, knows without knowing, loves without strings.

  2. A profound and beautiful thought, Surjit! How can we rightly claim credit to workings which have been in existance since the beginning and will for eternity? When we begin to understand that we are only one part of the whole, the reality of our role is reason to feel both awed and humbled.

  3. Surjit!

    Love this verse from Tao Te King of Lao Tze! This is not an easy state to accomplish. It requires one to have the wisdom and determination to slay the voice of judgement inside our ego and achieve a state of Just Being.

    Thanks for the post, Surjit!

    Have a Blessed Day!

  7. How thankful are we that such a 'knowledge seeker' as yourself is willing to share the wisdom you find.

    I've always appreciated the negative side of each positive because only then can we gauge it's true value however the point of the story is slightly more difficult to master - we can but try.

    Thanks for shining your light so brightly Surjit.

  13. Hi Surjit...

    Sometimes I wonder if humankind even recognizes good and bad, healthy and unhealthy, sickness and wellness.

    It is as if much of the world is mixed up... mistaking pleasure for holiness, and harm for healing.

    The confusion creates a sense of loss IMO...

    Thanks for this post Surjit...
