A Random Thought

“Any piece of knowledge I acquire today has a value at this moment exactly proportioned to my skill to deal with it. Tomorrow, when I know more, I recall that piece of knowledge and use it better.”

  1. Hi Surjit,

This is indeed a wise saying.

Knowledge acquired indeed only valuable when we have the necessary skill and had reached the level that we could remember to utilize it at those moment needed most.

“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.” - Anton Chekhov

Thanks Surjit, for sharing this quote.

  3. VERY true. I've found that in life, we're able to learn the same lesson more deeply, widely or from a different perspective, so you can always learn more and more as time goes by. ;-D

  5. Surjit,
I really like that quote. God doesn't bear fruit on trees to weak to bear it. We are exactly where we need to be today and we can handle anything in this moment.

  6. I like this idea very much.

I have the sense that we are only able to perceive the world in relationship to our ability.

The more we open our hearts, the more we fill them!

    Thanks for this Surjit,

    Jen

  9. I have found this to be particularly true of things that I read. Each time I re-read them in different stages of my life, I learn things that I wasn't ready to grasp before. The teacher, the teaching, and the student must all be perfectly matched for enlightenment to occur!

  10. It seems we put 'a bookmark' on the knowledge we acquire in the present, thinking it would be revisited later in life.

As we roll out more miles in this earth, those bookmarks 'speak' louder than ever. The heart and the wisdom of the person has changed BUT NOT the bookmarks ^_^
