"Who can tell me how much money the great Rockfeller left behind him?" a teacher asked her class.
The children made wild guesses.Ten Million? Fifty Million? One Billion Dollars perhaps? After all they were talking about the fortunes of one of the world's richest men!
Only one child had a different answer to give.
Rockfeller left every penny behind him!"
....How true it is.
When the call comes, we leave everything that we call our own in this world! Not even our own hands do we take with us.
Of what then are we so proud !
Do you agree?

Good Sunday afternoon to you, Surjit !
When the call comes, I take with me my soul, and everything I have done, said and thought good and bad...
I take the wealth and the poverty of my experiences and my learning, and I leave behind the legacy of those whose hearts I have touched.
Hi Surjit!
A good blog on the impermanence of material things. Great sages said we came empty handed and will all leave the same way.
Your blog drives one to think if it is worth investing too much of our lives in the search of material things when no ounce of it could be brought with us upon our very last breath.
What is more important than mere living? This very breath that we are taking now. Something that we are doing with no awareness at all, but yet is the most important factor to our living!
Use Material Things to serve our Life. Do not use up our lives to serve Material Things.
My shallow views.
Blessings,
WaterLearner

Very true, Surjit!
When we die, we can bring nothing... naked we come naked with go!
The bible tells us in Matthew 16:26 - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Blessings to you, Surjit
Nothing in this world belongs to us. So true. We leave everything behind us. Not even this body we are in belong to us. It too goes to dust when our time here ends.
Sam, this is the ultimate truth:
..naked we come naked with go!...
Knowing all this,we still run after the worldly possessions...
Thanks for adding your meaningful views.
Good luck.

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. This is a good reminder for us not to be too caught up with the pursuit of the 5Cs and lose sight of the greater goal of life. Great post Surjit!
