A Prayer..

"A man prayed: O God, let me hear you.

The thunder roared.

But he didn't hear...

O God, let me see you.

A rose blossomed right in front of him.

But he didn't see...

O God, let me feel you.

And he brushed away a butterfly

that landed on his hand.."

What do you think?

  1. Sometimes we want our prayers to be answered our way, the way WE think it should be answered. We sometimes do not see that God's answers are right before our eyes...waiting to be discovered.

  8. I know that God speaks to us all the time. We only get to hear if we are willing to open our minds and our hearts. For God doesn't speak in a human voice. He sends us signs and feelings. Lovely post Surjit!

  19. Hi Surjit,

One can hear, see and feel God with their heart although not literally!

    Blaise Pascal says:
“It is the heart which perceives God and not the reason. That is what faith is: God perceived by the heart, not by the reason.”

The bible tells us in Matthew 5:8 -
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    For they shall see God.

    Thanks for this post.
    Blessing to you.

  21. Nice post Surjit which entirely sums up how God speaks to us. In His still small voice and the most subtle gestures. I am glad to read this post as it is a timely reminder for me not to ignore Him.

I remember that the few times when I seek His guidance in prayer that He always delivers. Hmmmm... perhaps even a particular post on a blog could be God's way of telling us something?
