I know... I do not konw.....

"Empty your mind of all thoughts. Let your heart be at peace. Watch the turmoil of beings, but contemplate their return.
Each separate being in the universe returns to the common source. Returning to the source is serenity.
If you don’t realize the source, you stumble in confusion and sorrow. When you realize where you come from, you naturally become tolerant, disinterested, amused, kindhearted as a grandmother, dignified as a king.
Immersed in the wonder of the Tao, you can deal with whatever life brings you, and when death comes, you are ready. (Tao Te Ching, #16)

There are days when I wonder how we all get through it. As blessed as my life is, I still have moments when I wonder, why me? Today I opened the Tao Te Ching and this is the page that came up. It’s amazing how it speaks to me, each time telling me what I need to hear. I need to stop thinking so much and allow the Universe to show me the Way.
I need to stop taking things so seriously and take a more light hearted point of view. When I look out into the world and see so many people with much bigger problems than I have, I know I can handle my own load. Knowing that there is just a bigger Plan than I can comprehend, allows me to breathe a little easier.
When I know that I don’t know, that’s when I begin to understand!

  3. Surjit:

I totally understand your feelings and I am glad that you have the ability to take a step back and are able to find the wisdom from others. You know that I have the same problem multiplied 1000 times, and when I find myself unable to think or move I look to people like you to help me find my way back. Thank you.

  7. Hi Surjit..

My favorite part of your post is..when I know that I don't know, that's when I begin to understand.

I have often felt the confusion of trying to figure it all out, and coming to the place where I accept that I don't know, gives me peace.

    :-)

    Thanks for this post,

    Jen

  11. when we busy ourselves with a lot of things, work, home, personal life, problems and hobbies, there seem to be no room left to reflect. there seem to be little or no more room for God. Because it is through the calm and silence that He talks to our hearts. "Be still and know that I am your God." - Bible.

I like this particular post Surjit, because I hear the heart behind the beautiful words. =) God bless!

  13. surjit, what a lovely post. Sometimes I feel as if my mind travels in all different directions at light speed, and to stop thinking too much has always been a challenge for me, but a worthy one. It is amazing the things we can realize if we just stop and take the time.

  20. In a way, the principle is being able to let your problems and worries dissolve in the larger context of things in the world and the universe. You are right about letting go and not letting things eat you. Life is short and we need to be able to just go with the flow and take things with a dash of good spirited humour. Laughter is the best medicine!
